TTR50 finding neutral fault
Hi,
I have bought my son a second hand 2014 ttr50 for his birthday and I am having trouble getting it from in gear into neutral. When it is cold before I have started it I can get it into neutral but once I have started or is warm it I becomes very difficult practically impossible to find the neutral position until it cools again. Does anyone have any ideas about what to suspect or where to start looking to fix this fault? |
My son had the same thing with his ttr. When he stops he rolls the bike back just a little and then he can click it down into neutral easily.

Dont know if it helps but with my TTR250, I find that changing the oil makes gear selection easier.

Hey,
Thank you for the suggestions. I will have some time tomorrow to try them hopefully all is good. |
When you say "find", you're not looking between 1 and 2 are you? Neutral being all the way down on these sometimes they just need that little rock back and forth as stated and changing the oil would be a good start too. If they don't work then start looking internally for bent shift forks

Thank you for your suggestion. I am trying to get neutral all the way down but did seem to go to far once today being that I lifted the shifter up a little and got neutral. May have to investigate internally. Will take it to a bike shop for a second opinion before opening up Pandora's box
