Well my rebuilt starter system didn't work.
![]() Went for a quick spin at Merlya this morning and it only started on the button once ![]() Looks like I'll be buying a 410 watt starter motor ![]()

Just sayin' make sure the mechanicals are spic'n'span. And so simple to check. The XC case cover light weight mod has merit too. ![]() Long legs are over rated by the short leg brigade...my long legs just get tangled it the trail or rear wheel if I'm not vigilant but will never be long enough to reach to the bottom of the hill / rock step.... Rode over my own foot once which didn't feel so great.

My best option was to replace everything and start again with 410 watt starter . Only problem is there is none available. I ordered nearly month ago and still has not been sent. Release date from ktm is 29/11/13. Of course that was a holiday followed by weekend. So hoping it will be sent out tomorrow. $500 delivered . Starter motor, ignition cover, idle gear cover, 2 lots of gaskets, collars.

my bike has stopped starting off the button. im hoping its just the battery. nutty shimmed the starter up and it started up fine at his place after doing the top end a few weeks ago. since then i rode at wandy and after i washed it and tried to start it with the exhaust bung in and flattened the battery... duh!! lucky my 2 year old knew what was going on and told me about the exhaust bung. since then it hasnt started off the button. i tried charging the battery but i think its rooted. it engages and turns the motor over very slowly and then stops. battery says 13.9v then when starter pressed drops to 4.4v.

Thanks. Still not sent.
just a bit off topic here but its my thread. You were talking about your jd jetting kit, last weekend. My problem with my carby is with the pilot curcuit. Is that what was bad on yours. The bike runs sweet after you get past just open . I am only getting 80-90 km to a tank.

Ps
from factory my pilot jet was installed cross threaded. It was impossible to turn out past 2 turns out. I finally worked up courage to try and remove it. Was worried it would snap. It did take some finesse to get it out.
