Great effort everyone.... especially Hoobz the human crane. i'll post the pics tommorow.

In the meantime Wishing Illya as speedy recovery from his suspected broken leg, i saw him do it and it was not pretty but like a ktm soldier he jumped back on his steel horse and rode back to george's house nearby with a busted leg

The ride was a bit dusty dusty but i everyone had a ball

Was a great day that turned a bit sour in the end with Illya coming off and hurting himself.
Was a very very dusty day, lunch and beers at the pub went down awesome as usuall and was great to see everybody put their hands in their pockets and raise some money for the Royal Childrens Hospital to see Hoobs the human bike lift at work.

Thanks to Hoobs,Coady and Bruce for the leading and to Karl and Sav for the sweep duties and thanks to Rowdy for the couple cans after the ride and Fro for the lift there and back.

Hope your doin ok Ill and have a speedy recovery.

Ok. Ok. I'm just feeling disappointed now. I've come home all safe and sound and Illya is laid up with a broken leg after a ride I got together. I'm thinking of him and his family more than anything. Wishing you the speediest recovery Shmeared.

Everyone's generosity for the little fundraiser blew me away. Even after the amount was raised and the deed done people came forward with more money. And the amounts given

Well done riders. You've done well for the DBW donation for this Good Friday's Royal Children's Hospital Appeal.

The ride:
We were on our way through and past the reduction burn area when we arrived about 1 minute too early at a crucial intersection and fluked a DSE vehicle just at the point where we nearly got away with a drive through. They turned us all back and that slapped about 20 k's on our trip.

We went back down bald hills road and did a detour over the Alcoa boundary and Peregrin tracks. Then did Denhams, Batsons, Loves, Bambra road, Bambra Boonah road, Sea veiw, Gentle Annie, Moggs creek track, and stopped and dropped off a few rec reg riders for their lunch break at the end of Clarks Spur where there is a real nice lookout.

Did the bike lift thing there infront of a live audience after announcing a minimum amount required before I'd even think about doing it again. Amount reached in 3 seconds and collected by Anthony 1978. Good job Ant.

The rest of us went down and hit the Aireys pub and had a nice lunch sitting in the sun. We all refueled over the road.

Paul Pepstar scored a direct hit by a large branch pointing across the track and wiped out only to find his rekleuse was playing up. KrakDX towed him down to and along the Great Ocean Road for nearly all of the way and I towed him the short remainder of the distance. Turned out the clutch lever was pulled in a touch by a twisted switch assembly and once corrected the problem was solved. We towed him for nothing. Paul enjoyed the ride and subsequent great fuel economy.

Then..hehe... I gave the yellow vest to an anonymous person to lead us back to the lookout to pick up the other crew.

After about three wrong turns I realised the leader was heading waaayyy wrong and had to catch him to tell him to stop and turn around. Problem is I was at the very back of the field chatting to the sweep when I realised what was going on and had to nail it for about 10 k's to catch the buggA! Hit the rev limiter a few times doing it. Tapping it out big time on the straights. Overshot a left hander next to Battered Sav who was dinking Miss Mud. That little detour added about about another 20 k's to our journey. That only added to the ride anyway. It was fun.

I confiscated the vest and proceeded to get us lost again while trying to find a Great Ocean Road free route for the Rec Reg riders.Ended up bighting the bullet and doing some Great Ocean Road and overshot the turn off and had to do a u-turn back to the dirt. Another 15 k's added to our trip.

Picked up the other crew finally and that's when Bruce lead us through Paddys on his BMX. He punts the trial bike along well. Surprising how he was at the sharp end most of the ride.

Going through Paddys we had an experienced rider follow and help each novice Paddys rider through and over any obstacles and hills. All I remember is Battered Sav helping a novice rider and I was helping MissMud Well someone had to do it.

That's about when Shmeared come off and broke his leg. Poor guy. He is bullet proof though. When I caught up with the bunch and saw him I found it hard to believe his leg was broken. He was still on his bike and wanted the quivkest way out so Bruce and a few others quickly escorted him to Bruces house while a couple of us organised for an ambulance to meet them there ASAP.

He rode out of Paddys with a broken leg. Respect Illya.

Everyone except for a few had enough by then after doing about 160 k's so we took the shortest routes back to the cars.

After getting back to the cars Stratts, Coady and I rode off to check out a new tip off. Turned out an excellent find. A real big thanks to Trailrider300exc for that nugget. We'll do it together soon Ben. It's a real smile maker mate Had all three of us giggling like girls buddy. The other two weren't real keen on going backwards around that loop. Don't blame them seeing the three of us ended up doing about 190 k's today.

Pics and vid coming soon.
