how many official riding areas do you know have been closed, in your lifetime?

Just thinking about this recently, all the official riding areas that are now "verboten".How many do you remember that are now gone?
How many do you know that have opened?

CLOSED
In SA, that i know of,
Clarendon MX park - closed mid 80's?? - suburbia encroachment i guess.
Coleman MX park,St Kilda - closed late 70's??-complaints from neighbouring properties(even though it was there first, and next to a council dump)
Snake Gully MX park - gone
Mallala MX Park - closed mid/late 90's - expansion of carpark for motorracing circuit, over existing MX track.

Kersbrook Trailbike Park - state gov. pine forest area set aside for regoed bikes, closed late 80's?? -closed due to overuse and damage?Area was only small.
Hartley Motorcycle Park - down Strathalbyn way somewhere i remember - closed early 80's

OPENED
Pt Gawler Motorcycle Park - this was always an unofficial bike riding area, until someone fenced it off, and made it legal - opened late 80's??, now closed due to insurance woes at present.Hoping to reopen.

Monarto Trailbike Park - opened late 90's??, still going

In the time I've been a dbw member, my first DBW ride was at Gembrook in 2005. But most of the tracks there are closed now.

I'm not sure about MX tracks though. The ones I already know of are still open...

(Tracks open to the public)
Frankston
Parwin
Broadmeadows
Laverton

South Coast MX club's track has also been closed for some time (council permits and insurance) and i heard that Barossa Valley Junior MX club (near tanunda) was closed by the council recently with little or no discussion.

We don't really have "riding areas" in SA such as gembrook but i guess you could count the broomrape quarantine area as there are lots of tracks within this area.

In the last 12 months EVERY SINGLE riding area in Central & North QLD has been closed. Except for Retreat Trail Rides

Stay down south, nothing to see up here,

I here Nowra & Tassie have heaps of places

I heard it was closed as the new land owner, (son of previous owner) wants to return it to it's natural state.

Rickster what about here in the ACT ,

Narrabundah Track gone early 90's (government owned)
Uriarra Track gone early 90's (government owned)
Tuggeranong Track gone late 80"s (government owned)

all tracks taken and sold off ..... nothing given back in return. same old government bullsh!t take take take

now they wonder why there is a massive problem here in the ACT as heaps of young kids that have bike (mainly pocket bikes) riding around the streets getting popped off by the coppers.

The biggest loss i reckon is when Boat Harbour changed, growing up in the shire & riding horses / bikes / 3 & 4 wheelers / beach buggies /surfing / and the good ole sand mats down the sand hills & the parties at the waterhole.

It was brilliant, uncontrolled fun. Not a lot of injuries, no one wanted to sue anyone & we all had a place to go every weekend & usually a day or three after school too.
