In my previous life I spent a bit of time sizing solar requirements for remote Comms sites and between 19 -23 deg provided the most optimum year round output. Closer to the equator became less reliable due to cloud cover. Further south/north of the tropics then suffered from progressive lack of sunlight averaged over the year.
That must be why they introduced daylight saving
Just saying.

Yep, lots of factors to be taken into account apart from distance from the equator and time of year.

I've been looking into solar a bit but there seems to be so many different companies all varying in price and quality. Am in Melbourne.

Would be looking at a 5 - 6kw system.

Does anyone have a recommendation of a Melbourne company they dealt with and a rough ballpark price of their installation?

Not in Melb but 6.1kw system Fronius inverter. $6100. Expect to pay $1.00 to a $1.20 for a good system.

Thanks for that.
Apart from looking for a fronius inverter, what brand/type/power panels should I be looking for?
