YZ250 exhaust on WR450

Hi all, i have been doing some reading in regard to an exhaust system on my WR450. I have read in a few places that people have put YZ250 on the WR450 and have had great improvements.

Can anyone back this up or say that they have had the same experience? If so, what year model YZ250 exhaust is compatible with my 2012 WR450?

Thanks in advance

Someone has a firm grip on your putza Griffo and they're are giving it a hell of a pull.

If Yamahas engineers could use the same part over two models they'd do it.

Too much back pressure above 6-7000rpm for a start.

Buy a FMF or find a used YZ-F 450 muffler, the old reverse-baffled OEM YZ-F450 grafted on would be the go, that was a great muffler.

I'd say that they would have to be referring to a YZF exhaust. YZ's are completely different, no way does a YZ exhaust fit a WRF.

You would have to match the base chassis and subframe designs pretty close. i.e. the previous gen WR450's (conventional air flow design) which were based on the YZF250 chassis/sub-frame might be transferable with the last carbied YZF250s (up until 2012 I think). You would need to get the mufflers up close together to make sure it fit the header in the transition/flange.

I would think you'd be better off looking for a YZF450X muffler for a current gen WR450 though. It really depends on which model 450 you're trying to fit.
