Muffler Packing/Baffle

Came off on the MX track the other week and knocked myself senseless. While I gather the gumption for a come back I thought I would give the girl a bit of love. Replaced the left hand radiator, start stop buttons and while I had it apart repack the muffler. I need to order some head stem bearings and a couple of other little items to make her track ready.

Question is, is there any benefit in getting rid or opening up the spark arrestor that's
located towards the end of the muffler?

I would give you all a part number but its not listed.

It should be an FMF Q Stealth silencer. I can't think of any benefits. You might be better off buying yourself a muffler designed for the MX track if that's where you do a lot of riding.
