Bloody hell .......riding down Main North Rd minding my own business, when the cage in the next lane decides to change lanes despite me being along side him

I blasted my whimper of a horn, obviously full of dust & kept it on for a full 3 minutes, ................ he looks over his left shoulder swerves back into his lane, then decides I was obviously smaller than him & moves back into me.

After I calm down with a few "champagne beers" I'll upload my "version" of events

The only consulation was when I filtered up along side a "HardlyCan" rider, he was petrified that my dust cloud was gunna settle on his bike

After a last minute change of plans on the home front, I was able to join PB49 (Husky 610) as he led the way to Marrabel over some great tracks, hidden at times by the dust cloud behind him, including parts of the much talked about recently, Taylors Run Rd.

East of Marrabel I was offered the task of guiding everyone to Inspiration Point & I thought it would be good to start this new years' semester of enjoyabe dirt riding with completing a "Gap Year" for the day ie the many "Gap tracks" along the Tothill Ranges.

Unfortunately the first Gap I led everyone to ie Gerke Gap, had a locked gate at the end of a challenging steep up hill track, which as we all know, has to be ridden back down again .................... bugga

Trev did well to come down the steep, shaley, loose rocked, rutted track in one piece on his new "big" Tenere

On arrival at Burra, we witnessed one of a dirt bike riders worst nightmares ................... the Burra Bakery was closed.

but it wasn't long before Trev sniffed out a suitable alternative for his lust for a Cornish Pastie.

After a delicious lunch we launched ourselves, sailing south with the wind in our faces ............ although suspicious that it may be coming from the air passing through the big zippered Klim pants ahead of us .

Until Trev shouted ......................... there's Kipo

More zig zagging across the Gaps until we came across Trev's rear guard shattering rut.

It may not look much, but after being lulled into a false sense of enjoyment cruising the flat, smooth, fast, grassed track for a km or two, you are suddenly comfronted with a foot deep rut, which as well as sending Trev's repaired number plate from his first encounter, into orbit, it fully compressed the TDM suspension, then launching the heavy ol' beast into the air, luckily power landing forward barely in control.

Never-the-less, a great day out discovering new tracks with good mates.

Hope to ride with you again soon.

Cheers

No it wasn't!! After you'd got us up a knarly, rocky, scary, hill clumb, only to find a locked gate at the top and no other way out other than down again, the others were encouraged to assist you choose another route!!

Top report Trev and MB. That pic of everyone looking at the map is classic.

I reckon that 'inspiration' point is where I got 2 flats on the Robby 2 day trial. One I fixed the first day but the second one I rode back to Roberstown flat.

Thats a great view from up there.
