VicRoads survey - making single track legal.

Aussie dirtbike riders - I urgently need your help!!!! Please, please complete the quick 10 min VicRoads survey below outlining why you want and prefer legal single track trails in the bush. Once completed please email dirtwise@shanewatts.com (use subject line - "Legal Single track") and go into the drawing to win one of 5 free DirtWise school spots ($400 value each), one of 3 sets of GoldenTyres ($250 each set), or one of 7 free DirtWise 4-pack Instructional DVD sets ($95 each 4-pack set). PLEASE SHARE THIS WITH ALL OF YOUR RIDING MATES! Those who have already replied to the survey in the past can also enter the prize draw. Here's a link to my reasons why you should complete the survey; http://shanewatts.com/neerim-east-survey-information/ The Survey link is; https://engage.vicroads.vic.gov.au/Neerimtrailbikes and it closes this Sunday, Apr 2. This is a call to action for all dirtbike riders, please make the short 10 min effort to do this!!!!

Wow, Victoria actually encourages dirtbikes. We've got a thing or two to learn here 'up north'.

We've discussed this before, but to me this is just a no brainer.. The govt makes money from dirtbikes, it could make more. I'd rather be charged $100 a year to ride legally in places where I currently can't than pay $100 to go round and round at an MX track..

You're correct jpg - again

Not much of a survey, more of "lip service to consultation with public".
A three choice question includes closing informal tracks in each option.
Discard all non regular responses and bingo; you have 100% choosing to close single tracks...

Yep, you are on the money there. Unless Roger Pitt is the driving force behind it I have very little faith that it is anything other than smoke & mirrors

Completed the survey with what I hope are viable and acceptable suggestions.

The skeptic in me has serious concerns regarding ulterior motives and hidden agendas though countering that, if we don't speak up and make our voice heard we'll be taken for granted.

It is somewhat of a slap in the face and borderline negligence when you consider the administrative financial cost (registration etc) placed on recreational motorcycle users with the facilities provided vis-a-vis the MTB network.

Love ya work Shane-o.

I can't see the point to be honest. They will never make it all legal so why bother having just certain trails legal? It's bad enough how badly some of the more popular singles get chopped up in the forests around Vic, imagine the marked out ones after a winter.

It's either all or nothing when it comes to making single legal I reckon.
