WARNING - RACV no longer insurer Rec Rego Bikes

I just found out today as I went to insurer another bike today that RACV from last year stopped insuring Rec Rego bikes and only insurer full registration bikes and I was told the bike I have currently insured with them will not be insured if something was to happen.

Not happy at all to know that the last 4 Bikes would not have been covered , and if I hadn’t rang up today I wouldn’t have known this information.

If you have Rec Rego and are with RACV you will not be insured under no circumstances.

Probably one of those fine-print items they sneakily add into their Product Disclosure Statements each year. The ones that almost no-one reads until trying to work out why they won't award a claim

So who do you recommend as a replacement insurer for a Rec Rego'd bike?

I finally made an effort to contact RACV about the non-coverage for Rec Reg'd bikes in February. Today RACV have emailed me that I will be refunded all premiums charged since the policys inception (July 2015) as I clearly disclosed that it was Rec Reg'd all along (it was in their notes).

So just a reminder for any Victorians who have RACV insurance on a Rec reg'd bike, you are not covered!!!

Be polite and ask for a refund of all premiums charged as your PD notice will not mention this exclusion (mine didn't).
