250X throttle

My mate has got off an old XR250 and on to a 250X and is struggling to work out the throttle on this thing, he cant seem to get the concept of not snapping the throttle, he is used to the XR and the power winding on.

What is the best throttle to use to reduce the hit of this 'powerhouse' rather than snapping on the power cause it gets kinda old picking his bike up over and over again all day.

Any ideas?

Yeh thanks mate ive looked at the throttle cams but if someone knows of a specific one that works well with the 250X that would make it a bit easier.
I dont want to tell my mate yeh get this one and it turns out to be shit.

I was thinking the G2 with the CAM 400 ? but want to be sure

jeeez, if the 250X is too much punch for him, maybe he should get a 150 till he learns to ride ?

Haha dont worry we tell him that all the time

He just cant control that initial turn of the throttle, its way too jerky for his limited skills.

Gear it up.

That will take the edge of the small amount of snap that is there.

Go 14/48 or even taller.

i'm guessing he is changing back to first if its snappy? don't change to first, keep it in second and abuse the clutch.
