TM 2019 2-t - look out!!

This on the bush telegraph from Thumpertalk -

“Some official news from Pesaro : 250/300 2s EN bikes will use efi , oil mixing system , electronic ev ( it seems with a brand new mechanism ) , 6 speed gear box , electric start , probably fuel tank will be placed in the back like 4 strokes en models , not sure about a counter balance shaft like KTM , same hgs exhaust , kyb forks , available in february 2019 , still carburetor available for US . Price for Italy 8990 euro taxes excluded..”.

Sounds nice, verrry nice...

Been there, last new chassis was 2008. About time. That darn 2008. I had to build my own radiators FFS! Designed my own PV governor, PV segment pre-loader, my own head design, my own Pro-Circuit pipe. After all that the Zoke forks started to wear early.

Then there was that know-all TM dealer from NZ on here saying they were perfect bikes off the shop floor (if you had his PD). Dingbat, how are TM doing today? Still what they were 10-20-30 years ago. Rough workshop projects thrown out for sale to fund the race team.

Pity, they are brilliant bikes when fettled up. Also a pity, you have to be Mike Gosselar or Alex Ewing to make them shine.

Dunno why, but I loved that bike. The chassis on TMs are brilliant. Those days are gone. A stock FX does not need touching, nothing. 99% perfect bike out of the crate...

Shit, that has some potential.
Even has the potential to let me overlook how bloody terrible my whole 2008 TM250 experience was...

What's happening with the Aussie importer? Since the Halls lost interest and the new bloke took over, they seem to have disappeared almost entirely.

Edit: This adds credibility to the story... http://www.tmracing-usa.com/

The head studs on the outside of the water jackets is like a 1984 CR250 or a 1986 Maico... Neither of them fill me with confidence.

Edit 2: Ho crap, the 2019 4T has the fuel tank where the airbox usually is... This always ends well...

A few photos from Facebook

The exhaust valve controller looks very similar to an aftermarket setup On Grip that was out for Ktms 3 years ago

Is it just me or do those finned clutch and ignition covers look like they're off a 1950s British bike?
