Also wanted to mention the "need to know" legalities for anyone thinking of altering thir light on dirtbikes.
After contacting John from the dirtbike police on 93807356 (they call themselves "special section unit") he told me....
On a dirtbike with rec-reg the police will penalise you if you have any leds lights attached to handlebars. Their theory is that you can hurt yourself if you bump into or go over the handlebars (never mind the awaiting rocks & abyss below ready to shred yr bones).
So protruding handlebar mounted led's are a big NO-NO !
He also said the led's mounted inside the plastic light shrowd (replacing factory headlight assembly) was ok provided :
1/. The new light assembly was securely fastened just like the factory light assembly.
2/. They point to the ground infront of bike so it doesnt blind others around you....which is really what we want in a 6000k lumens way.
There was also the mention of whether they comply with australian stds but tbey are willing to overlook this if its just s rec-reg bike.

Hope this "sheds some light"
