300 EXC Horn Wiring

Hi all,
Just looking at the final hoop RE getting my new-to-me '05 300 EXC rec reg'd. I had to fit a new handlebar switch block to get power to my headlight, and assumed that this would be the reason I wasn't getting any power to the blanked-off wire under the tank for the horn.
My question is this: Should there be power at the red terminal under the switch when the horn button is pushed? I have power at the yellow wire (obviously), as well as the terminals for high/low beam, but should there be power at the terminal to the red wire when the button is depressed (and the engine is running)?
Apologies for the simplicity of my question, I'm very new to the electrical side of things...

The horn is live all the time. A live feed from the rec/reg runs the power rail to the horn. The live circuit passes through the horn and to the horn button. The N.O. horn button earths that wire, current flows, horn blows.

you have to insulate it and tuck it away
It pumps one way and then it pumps the other...
you have to know what you're doing with these machines and wear gloves
