Electric bike help - torrot

Hey guys,
I've got a little torrot t10 for my son that has just decided to stop.
From my limited diagnostics skills and help from some mates we have determined:
Battery has 53v so should be fine (rated at 48v)

Electric motor seems ok.
Using another (different) controller we could get it to turn over.

Fuses are ok

Connections seem ok

Think we have narrowed it down to either throttle or controller.

When we tried to wire up the throttle to some RC plane gear we couldn't get any outputs and we couldn't measure any resistance from it with the throttle in different positions

Main fuse circuit is always live even with the main switch in the off position which doesn't sound right?

Controller is $600 plus so I'm not too keen to buy another even if I know it is the problem.

Has anyone played around with these things and suggest some things I could test?

My next attempt is going to be to pull apart the throttle and see if there are any visible issues.

Couple of things:
1) The fuse protects the line switch, both sides of the fuse are live to ground unless the fuse is blown.
2) If it's the model with a high/low torque switch, check that out, they fail regularly.
3) If it works fine with another controller, it's the controller.

I replaced a controller in one last Christmas. I plugged the manufacture code into Google, bought a copy module for about $30 delivered if I recall.

Thanks nutty
I did the same with the code on mine with no result but I will try again. Some very similar looking controllers on eBay for $40ish

When I tested with another RC controller it wasn't fully wired up to the throttle and map switch as it wasn't compatible so I can't pinpoint the controller yet. I was just trying to eliminate the motor as the problem

It has an old style KTM on/off switch as the hi-Lo switch so I will look into that as well. Would it be providing a continual input to the controller?

Thanks for the tip gasman.
Yep the distribution just changed hands I think and they probably aren't up tto speed yet and I don't want to be a guinea pig

No. That type of controller simply grounds or degrounds the detector line from the module and provides a (decoupled) hi or lo digital input to the module. Switch condition doesn't affect running other than locking the module on one torque setting. It's not the switch.
