Help- customs paperwork

Has anyone had to go through the Homeaffairs process to get a BTO Order released? I ordered $1200 AUs worth of gear and now they are holding it. I am having trouble working out the various TARRIF codes. Looking forward to getting the bill for this

Thumbs down

I've had same issue ,

I just selected the closest thing to the item , I could find ...

Motorcycle soft luggage , fell into " SPORTZ bags ..." Catagory...

As long as you tick something in the ballpark , they seem to be happy to rob you of a few dollars ....

As TC says, they're Public Servants, they generally don't give a toss as long as a box is ticked. Maddo's waterbike comes in as 'boat parts', they don't seem to care as long as it's not figurines from Colombia...

we are in the signage game and get manufactured by our chinese collegues (?) all the time...very rarely is the quoted price that you pay the end price.... once it lands in the lucky country customs looks at what it is/the price charged and make a balance day adjustment tax....usually 10-20% more depending on initial cost...if they cant $%^$ you over their preferred way via gst they &^%%& you over via the back door....just hope they use the vaso.....good luck

You guys were right, they donít even care about the Tarrif codes. Some of mine were stretching it trying to get it roughly close enough despite all of their warnings that it needs to be accurate. And now they have billed me $280 for the joy of dealing with them.

Now I have to hope they release it quickly and Aus Post has their shit together to finish the delivery before Christmas.
