There is HEAPS in this list, most/all are international. Including shipping can still be cheaper sometimes.

parts options

Hi all - new to forum..
Great info - thanks!
fyi.... without being linked to them at all, I have found
Road & River in Geelong great....no fuss, very helpful and have a fair quantity of parts in stock.

http://www.roadandriver.com.au/

I have also used R&D with no dramas.

As I learnt the hard way, shop around for the best price!

Cheers....
Steve

Have compiled a list of Myths and truths to keep the Husky running sweet.

The plastic flap that hangs down from the airbox and goes between the rear tyre and swingarm - it will cut two holes in the swingarm eventually. True

The streerer tube has a slot cut in it ( for euro steering lock) If lock not fitted plug it. This will let water right into your bearings. True.

Easy to bind forks if you do the lower clamp bolts up to tight. Only torque to 13Ibs. True

Stock spark plug cap is garbage. Replace with NGK before it causes problems. Myth.

Replace the Mikuni with a Keihin PWK. Myth.

Ignition cover has a gap at the bottom to drain water. Seal it and remove the cover often to let it air out. Myth. Just don't pressure spray it.

Ignition is not the strongest. Make sure coil ground is clean and tight. True.

Keep greasing and not pressure spraying lower swingarm bearings and shock. True.

Loctite rear sprocket bolts. True.

Loctite both lower engine mounts and check them regularly. True.

The kickstarter can get crud in it. (under the rubber cover) and then not pivot out. Keep it oiled all the time. True.

Put anti seize on the side panel bolts and only nip them up. The bolts go into brass fittings built into the tank. They can pull easily. True.

Lube all the cables with a cable luber. True

Anti seize both axles. Smear grease regular.True.
The last husky I was with and needed to change a flat. We had to belt the axle out with a rock.

Safety wire the brake pad pins. True.

I have used these guys. They are a wrecker that specialise in Huskys & KTMs. Got a complete Ignition system from them for $400.00. Saved me about $1200.00 dollars. I know them personally & they courier over night. They have a lot more parts not listed, so it pays to ring & ask
