2004 dt175 cdi

Hi all
My 2004 DT175 is having an issue with no spark. Closer examination indicates the CDI may be having an issue. I've looked around and can't even find a replacement. I am considering an alternative CDI and would like to know if anyone can tell me if a CDI out of say, a 250, would work as well as an original? Or would there be potential for damaging downstream components. Any help would be appreciated. Also, a Yamaha dealer told me there isn't even a listing for this model, although the compliance plate lists it as a 1/04 model. Cheers.

Thanks for the reply Zimmo. The part number on the unit I have is
3TS-00 F8T1917 3X14. I know the DTs are a solid unit and a lot of fun, and I'm a bit upset this has failed as I've owned the bike from new and always looked after it, never worked it hard at all. Do you have any idea if second hand units are worth looking at, or better off getting a new one?
Cheers

I am not getting any hits in the parts fiches with 3TS-00 F8T1917 3X14.

No idea about second hand ones sorry. The DT/XT analogs are still popular in SE Asia so an after market brand off ebay might be an option for ~$50.
