Only once significantly over 20 years ago, but it turned out the old Bluntstones that had sunk in the heel and ball area had my arches carrying weight, get out of bed and lots of pain in feet standing up. New boots fixed it in a day.

Brugger recommended Bamboo socks combined with rotating three pairs of Mongrel Boots works these days. Good insulation and cushioning in modern boots.

Not so personal log.

Three weeks today.

Sleeping pretty well.

Sneezing hurts but bearable.

Lifting arm and reaching car heater controls hurts ribs a bit.

Things still crunching up under the ribs if I'm trying to work huddled over.

Can run and jump OKish.

Stepping up onto jobs, limited to about 700mm, probably about it at anytime but this id enough to cause pain

One and a half weeks of pain killers was enough to keep lungs pumped up but not enough for comfortable quality of life. Would have gone longer but since I had to work opted to use pain as a guide to what was OK to do so as not to add healing time.

Pissed off about income protection, I guess if I had have belted my head on the bridge bearer on the way through instead of my ribs they'd be starting my recovery payments in a week.

5 weeks.

Pretty much healed, support ribs with arms to sneeze, still a little awkward at the back when I lay down, just move until comfortable. Some movement in the front when hunched over welding and move left arm to pull shield up, think it's ribs moving in cartilage, but no pain from that so not stressed.

Quite pleased with the whole experience, everybody should do it at least once.

6 weeks.

About the same as last week, got a mild cold a few days back so I think some big sneezes slowed the soft tissue recovery, either that or heavy lifting at work. Good to know the lungs are coping as they should.

Hoping to report no pain next week, but if still have hard parts movement near the sternum I'll book the Doctor.

Sitting in emergency with two crushed fingers.
Probably not too bad. One split open so other than the bleeding and black nail it's OK. Other nails black, drilled it, but fingers bruised and swollen, that's why they sent me to Hospital.
Gunna be a loooooong wait, joints packed.

Ribs are still good, can get slight pain if I really overdo it.

You can't take a trick ya poor bugger! Broken ribs then broken fingers, I hope things don't come in threes.

Removing both fingernails, repairing nail beds. Operation could as late as this evening.
No pain meds, after broken ribs this is a breeze.......so far.

Trying to get op moved forward, swelling has nearly pushed the nail off overnight.
