Pilot Jet for Yamaha TTR90

G'day All, My grandson has a 2004 TTR90, and we are having a problem right now - the carburettor insists on flooding (no matter what I have tried).
So rebuild kit needed I guess.
However when I had the carb apart, and was cleaning out all the bits, I had to wonder about the Pilot Jet (it's the longer, thinner one). There is no hole right thru from top to bottom - is that correct and normal?
The carb is a standard mikuni.
Cheers, Arthur

Mikuni VM28 or 486(google it for a pic)?,yes it should have a very small hole through the middle of it. Blast it with compressed Air then hold it up to a light maybe get the grandson too see if he can see a hole through it(better eye sight).
Pretty sure it's a 12.5 size jet and I think that's the smallest they make.

Youíre right about there should be a hole down the centre of the 12.5 jet. Iíve just been working on one where the hole was blocked solid. To fix, I heated up the jet on the gas stove, dunked it in water & used a bristle from a wire brush to ensure it was clear. Bike idled perfectly after that little mod.
Question: why are the jets $7 on the net, yet $30 from a Yamaha dealer? That 4 fold difference isnít sustainable, even if they were in stock.
