Please recommend a Windows Program which auto-bids on eBay up-to my pre-set limit.

The 2G Mobile Phone Network has been shut down:
Hence: I now-urgently require a New Mobile Phone.

I've found a Phone I like & wish to Win the bid for it:
I'm un-familiar with automated auto-bidding on eBay.

I'd guess my 'puter would need to be constantly on?
Presumably; I'd also need to disable it's sleep mode?

Please advice in regards to Windows Bidding Software:
Also warn us/all of any potential failings & hiccups etc.

Below is the eBay link to the phone I'm intending to "Win".

Thanks disco
Please tell me/us about that "web service" then?

Yeah but what if the other bloke auto out-bids in the last 20 seconds of the auction:
I'd rather avoid/prevent that scenario: I'd likewise wish to win-it as cheaply as I can.
================================================== ============

I'd be Foregoing a Warranty: Yet, not really:- Aussie Trading Laws do apply? Good luck with recompense:- A bird in the hand.
They won't cover broken screens either: Paying for postage back to China is a rort: Waiting 2 Months for it back is doubly so.
================================================== ==========================================

Thanks for the suggestions fellas: Sites were informative yet redundant.
I did set a restore point & then tried a few sniping software suggestions.
But I gave up & had to use my restore point when my cpu shot to 100%.

Nevertheless:- I won the phone anyways by my own hand.
I'd sussed 3 sec lag by hitting refresh & watching my clock.
The Auction was set to finish at 32 seconds past 7PM EST.

You are over-thinking it Mr H1.

Just log in and bid as you normally would. At that time it will give you the option to set a max bid.

It all depends on how much you are prepared to pay, as BigAl360 said just log in and when you are setting your limit just set to the maximum(you want to spend), it will only bid above the next highest bid until your limit is reached. Hope I have explained it correctly.

Also you don't have to leave your computer on.

Just download a sniping app (plenty of them about). Havent used one in years but I think I used to use one called bid snipe. It will bid for you in the last few seconds at the next best price up to your pre-determined limit.

Isn't that exactly what eBays own max bid thing does anyways?

It auto-bids for you until you reach your set max limit you wanted to pay for the item.

most people dont put in their highest bid first (they often revise several times creating a bidding war), so it's adventageous to put your max bid in the last few seconds so that they don't get the opportunity...

It's also best to use a web site so that you're not dependent on your computer or mobile devices connection or function....

Aside from the usual bidding applications, don't forget to check Gumtree and Facebook to see if you can buy one from someone in person.

You know... face to face... like we did once upon a time...

I reckon they keep gumtree deliberately looking ugly so that people prefer to use ebay (ebay owns gumtree). It's kinda like the budget alternative like the telco's, banks and health insurance companies have to occupy market space and block the start up space.
