Who's got or has had a Gas Gas EC300 2006?

Picked up a bargain.

EC300 new top and bottom....very cheap. $2k

Marzocchi 45s? with black fork tubes
OHLINS rear
Hydraulic clutch

Needs tank, side and rear guard plastics
Rad guards
Bash plate
New rear wheel
Front and rear disks
Seat cover

Would like a larger tank.

Any help/advice/parts you may have laying around...let me know.

Stu

Pic is not mine but looks identical

I have an 06 250 but dont have any of the part you have listed.
But do have some parts.
2011 front guard and fork protectors (fits 06)
Have a 06 front wheel and axel with rotor
Zoke 45 forks (Mine has a kyb fork swap)
plus some other stuff I can't think of.

Great bike. I bought mine new in 06 and have had a pretty good run

Like most bikes they do have their quirks, Nothing too bad 06 had a weak subframe and I have been through 3 stators.

It will feel low compaed to your husky 300, also the motor isn't as fast as the Husky but it still rips, the power is great for tight trails and the gear box will be more suited to your riding also. Forks are pretty average aswell.

Bargain for what you paid though.

Definitely looking forward to doing the old girl up.
I know tuner that works well with the Zocc 45s. Did a great job on my 610. Turned out to be great forks.
6 gears will be nice again.
How's the Ohlins rear? Okay?
This bike is still stock. Has stock pipe without a single dent or scratch but it def looks 12 years old.
I dont think it's even been offroad! 🤣

I had an 05, basically the same.
was mostly a good bike, weak subframe as said earlier.
I had a 12lt clarke tank, didn't make the bike feel to bloated.

I sold it to Kost Too MUCH on here years ago
You never know it may be sitting in his shed gathering dust.

Had one for years, only just got rid of it.. Certainly wasn't as pretty as that one!

Mangled the subframe, and the extension loop but that was fixed/replaced (more than once). Cracked rims, but you get that. Airbox didn't seal when I got it, so I had to spend a while blocking holes and re-aligning plastics. I think the only other thing apart from maintenance in the 6 or 7 years I rode (abused) it was having to replace the reeds because the block was worn. Had the big tank, which was handy on occasions.

Otherwise I've got to say it was the most robust, hard to kill motorbike I've ever seen - let alone owned. I've ghostied it up and down hills, drowned it, smashed it into rocks so hard I can still see the marks in the rock from the linkage years later, cartwheeled it and flipped it. It taught me a hell of a lot.

Suspension was a bit basic, but then I did nothing to improve it, brakes were a bit weak, but then I did nothing to improve them either. Started every time I kicked it, got me home every time I took it out. Brilliant bit of kit.

Not sure why I sold it, really..

I've got stock springs out of an 08 515. It had the 45mm shitters and ohlins rear. I would guess that the spring rates would be higher.
