I had a squirt on a 17 Sherco 300 2T six days. Amazing little thing. Handled brilliantly. All the good gear on it.

They are becoming really popular down here.

Recuper8 is probably the best hydration pack fluid you will ever use. Its like crack for dirt bike riders.

Ive gone from a 480rr Beta to the 6day 300 4t Sherco and its a nimble pushy in the technical stuff ...
Still needs a few things to suit me but for the handful of rides Ive done they are brilliant little mid bore

Welcome to the Sherco world
I am in my second 450, current is 7yrs old.

They are a great bike, suspension is great, plenty of torque down low.
Spares used to be expensive and hard sometime to get, but a lot better now.

An old one? I didn't realize that would effect the parts prices? I have been doing some research recently and it seems each manufacturer has certain parts that are just ridiculously priced but the majority of parts are relatively similar.
For example top end kits from sherco and beta are very similar at $250-$290 but the sherco pipe is nearly $800!
A KTM clutch master cylinder and perch was $750 but the exact same part supplied by sherco was $250!

The Beta still has the edge but not by much after the recent price rise.
I searched a number of parts on the sherco website comparing them to KTM, Beta and Sherco and while there are anomalies it is very similar.

At the end of the day I agonized over my purchase for weeks and did heaps of research but in the end it came down to there not being much in it these days, for me the sherco just looked and felt cool. I wanted to try somthing differant and the Beta ergo' s annoyed me when I owned one. Not enough to not like the bike, i loved the Beta but wanted a change.

TPI needs a bit more testing and tweeking from some reports and i didnt want to have to deal with oil pumps and injectors, hence the sherco.

Time will tell I guess.

A few years back I threw a leg over the Sherco range, just after the 450 landed. I rode the two 300ís back to back, the smoker was the factory edition while the 4 banger was a stock standard bike. I didnít gel with the smoker, as nice as it was. But the 4 stroke felt good straight away. It felt lighter and more nimble and had one of the sweetest little donks Iíve yet to experience. A great little bike. Even better by the sound of it if KYB are involved. Could well be the next sled..
