Helmet polishng, no not that kind :)

Got a few helmets I want to flip and was looking for sound advice or even just outright abuse on what is the best way to make them look as good as possible.

FWIW I have glued up all the biggest cracks

Well... You've already said it yourself... So there's your answer... Use polish... Google the best one for you.

Soap & water, lather, repeat, & rinse, then Barry and soft cloth

Barry our houses' code for Mr Sheene, never had it interfere with the helmets integrity in 40+ years, doesn't harm furniture finishes which in the case of Schlack or Poly U in particular are easy to wreck with chemicals/ether/achy/etc. Bonus my helmet cupboard area smells ever so Barry...

I have a shark flip helmet too...but I guess you are not speaking of one of them, in which case rule of thumb is what Choppie said
NB;- that barry is not to be confused with our Baz a long lamented member and compadre', whom also lived on the Cold Ghost for a fair stretch-RIP bud
It's all about the impact.
