waiting on new ktm 350exc-f..

Hi guys,
I rode at the Broadford Dirt Days last weekend to test ride the new 350exc-f like a hundred other punters. During the day I was due to ride three different bikes but ened up on the 350 twice as this was the one that I was keen on to replace my 08 wr250f.
Like what a lot of other people have posted that have ridden the bike (which is a little more honest than what some magazines suggest) it was an awsome thing to ride. I only weigh about 65 kgs so the suspension really suited me and the ergo's and handelling were exceptional. Before the wr250f I had an 06 450exc, I was happy with the overall package of that bike but to me it feels that ktm have come a long way with their technology and research since then (even with the hot topic of the pds rear shock!!). The bike was confidence inspiring and the fuel injection system is obviously a lot smoother that the carb set up.

As a result my friend and I have put a deposit on one to be collected next week at some stage. I have ordered a lower seat for mine and b&b radiator guards.. this may well be the longest week of my life...

Id just like to mention that on the Dirt Days everyone that we spoke to was really helpful as well as representatives from the local dealerships since then.

If you have any questions about the bike let us know and ill do my best to answer them.
Thanks for reading my first post!!

Same here

I just put a deposit on a 350 excF this afternoon also, they said it would be ready for pickup Monday.
I also ordered the low seat. I am waiting to hear back on the availability of Rad Guards and Bash plate.

Yeah I did the broadford ride as well and the 350 excf wasn't on my original ride list. But after not getting a tab taken on one of my loops I had an extra loop to do on another bike so i thought id give the 350 a go. The bike suprised me so much I bought one Monday morning and had it sitting in my loungeroom Monday afternoon!! Id like to thank the guy who didnt take my tab on the first loop because if it wasnt for him id have a 500 excf sitting in my lounge instead. Not that theres anything wrong with that.

i thought the 500 was smoother and turned better but i'm 95kg and the little 350 likes to be ridern hard where i have always had bigbore bikes
and short shift ,don't get me wrong the 350 was bloody good but not for me .

where the 500 felt natural to me like i have always had it .

The general consensus seemed to be that the bike had to much power and didnt suit what the majority were after. When the bike was available to ride the 15-20 odd blokes in front of me weren't interested in touching it!To be fair each rider only had 3 loops on 3 bikes so you had to be picky in some respect. I for some reason liked the power the bike generated (I also have a crf 450r which I race) and let me tell you it made the honda feel like an arogant beast on single trail which it is. At the end of the day the bike wasn't made for this purpose. Even though the extra displacement on the 500 was noticable on the loop it wasn't as bigger gap as what I thought it would be over the 450 and 350. A 6-10 minute lap compared to a 2 hour cross country could however prove to be a different story.
