Received my new Acerbis tank from Rocky Mountain, (god I love Rocky Mountain) but haven't fitted it yet. Waiting for eBay fuel tap to arrive.

Test of Patience....

Binned the 300 into a tree last night. After fitting the new tank and going on a "test" blap.
Broke the throttle, none in Adelaide have to order one in from KTM in W.A!

$140 + extra for the rubber boot...

Driving to Vic tonight for a Pines ride tomorrow....

Off to the shed to make emergency repairs....

Dealing with adversity defines character...

I've had a win !

Cleaned up the throttle assembly, it had snapped through just after where the cable adjuster screws into the housing. I wire wheeled the paint off then mig welded it back together from underneath. Crappy cast alloy, lots of contamination took a bit of building / grinding !!

I then made a 'trick alloy' brace that covers the whole assembly. It mounts on top then wrappes around the stalk the cable adjuster threads into. 15mm hose clamp to support. Problem solved.

Ugly: YES
Being able to ride this weekend: PRICELESS

Thats it sometimes you just need to have a go at fixing it. I looked at aftermarket ones and they were around $60 'one long poo' brand from china. Ballards do them for $99 complete, but have none in stock.

I've got gripheaters on the throttle tube, glued, tie wired, too much hassle to swap bits. Fixing was the only option.

Lets hope it holds!

I cleaned the mud off from yesty's ride from Milton to East Lynne . Took the RHS radiator off so i can see if the small hole in the bottom ,that drained the coolant and shortened the ride yesterday can be fixed . Original RHS rad $440 . No fault of the new alloy guards . Coincidence though !
