Is the 450 a dying breed?

No one seems to by buying the KTM450 anymore! They used to be the biggest selling bike, but now everyone is buying something different!
I've owned most of the other classes and still find the 450 the perfect blend of usable power, handling and weight.
What is it that makes the other classes more desirable?
Is the 450 just too blah and too easy to ride?

Yep, they may be the 'top' brand ATM, but I'll never buy one for that reason!

Yes they are quick for sure, but i didn't previously associate KTM with the land of sand and i do now.
As to 450 sales, i reckon as the makers get more power out of the smaller classes ppl will trend their buying towards the bike with the least weight that can handle their power urges/needs.

Worst thing they have done to date is sell out for a dollar and will still charge a premium.
They'll lose sales for sure.

Stupid question maybe, but whats the relation between the land of sand and KTM? assuming the bikes are less austrian and more calcutta-rian?
Just assembly? all models?

cheers
