Thought i'd share the latest..

All we are waiting on now is a bearing seal which will be here saturday morning and then as far as i know it is ready to go together.

Went to put the head back on today but as i don't have a ring compressor, i thought i'd leave it and take it to the local shop, they usually do little jobs for nothing.. pretty handy.

Will it be ok to run this bike in with semi synthetic 2t oil? and what does the average person do to run it in? My experience with rebuilding is with chainsaws etc etc (worked for husqvarna) and we used to start them, let it idle for a couple of minutes give it some revs and then business as usual.

PE250 1977 - 1982
LT250R 1985 - 1989
RMX250 1989
RM400 1978 - 1980
PE400 1980 - 1982
RM465 1981 - 1982
LT500R 1987 - 1989
RM250 1977
RM250 1978
RM370 1976

20mm Diameter coarse spline

It fit straight on the RMX with a tap from a hammer and wood(they used a little too much paint) It is all made of steel and for $60 delivered from canada, it was ALOT cheaper than OEM ..... http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/SUZUKI-RM...item5654f84b0b

Pretty much have the motor together, just need 4 new nuts to hold the head on..

Have put a late model RM250 front brake master cylinder on it(out of the spares laying around), hopefully it improves the brakes slightly

she runs!!!

all that is left to do is pretty it up.. the plastics aren't the best condition, and the rims were painted at some stage and it is all flaking off as you can see.

i will try to polish the pipe aswell. and yes it is running a KTM headlight shroud, haha

looks good mate, its a shame the newer style rmz front gaurds are a different shade of yellow as it would clean it up a fair bit.

i was also in the search for a better brake solution, braided front line made a decent dfifference, also chucked on a 280mm kit off a drz400e which took some time getting used to how well it braked

So how much you reckon she owes ya all up now? Did it just get a new piston or bottom end / bearings aswell?

Will you get fork boots?

cheers.

the front brake is now hard as a rock, well near on(the same as my recent 02 RM250) it is also running a front fender off a DRZ400. it will eventually cop new plastics and a good clean up overall to make it look tidier

the bike copped a new piston and rings and a new sleeve. bottom end was well and truly in spec. looking at the gaskets, someone has had it all apart before i got it.

it owes probably around 1200 or 1300 plus alot of my time.. could be more though... i just have to figure out whats up with the clutch/gear box but shouldnt be much.

and yeah mate, fork boots will be going on plus whatever else. keen to ride it!
