I used to drool over the Kawi catalogue as a kid in the early 80's, all the lime green and uni-trak porn was a sight to behold and spent much time lusting over a KDX200 or KX125

I had an aircooled KDX cake for my 8th birthday. 11 years later I finally got one (watercooled)

Here's a few new photos of my progress.... fully rebuilt the rear shock.... just have to oil and gas up.... freshly blasted and painted hubs with new bearings.....Had the rear hub crack tested, cracks welded up, and re machined the sprocket face, plus 3 hrs of dremal dressing the welds..... and original gold rim set, waiting for the new spokes to arrive.....

I welded up the deep scratches in the fork legs, and stripped off the clear coating, and linished up the raw alloy with a 6 in scotchbrite on the bench grinder... then just replaced all the wearing internal bits and seals, a bloody good clean and away I go.... didnt put emulators or different springs in, I want so see whats it rides like first....

I've found the best motivation for getting back in to the kx... shout ya bike a new set of plastics!!!! well worth the wait, and expense.... thanks nightmare racing..... next, onto the rear wheel, and start the new expansion chamber... So now I've bought a tig, and a small set of rollers, already have patterns made, and ready to cut out sheet metal..... the fun begins....
