Love the little TTR's, great bikes they are so under rated bush pups....an air cooled 325cc would be a great combo in that chassis, with the utilitarian simplicity of a trail bike maintenance schedule.

A few minor updates, the bike feels really nice, very happy with the motor - especially when I realised the stock restrictor screw was wound in preventing full throttle. Talk about a bike which has had an easy life!

Rear suspension is my only point of concern at this stage, I'm convinced the rear spring is too stiff. 100mm race sag = 40mm free sag, I'm gojng to play around with it but I just noticed it feels a bit bouncy in the back and doesn't quite grip as I'd hoped. Being a bit fussy here but as the fronts so good, seems a shame not to get it right.

Get rid of the stock headlight with a lighter aftermarket one.

TTR 325 build, the ultimate "trail bike"

This is great! We have a TTR250 which my brother and I learnt to ride on. It sits in the shed now incase one of our mates who doesn't have a bike wants to come for a ride. It's actually out on loan at the moment, the guy who has it hasn't ridden in years and is getting back into it. He's riding the TTR until he can find a good WR.

I've been doing a bit of research on carb swaps and I'm seriously considering a 36mm DRZ-S CV carby.
These carbs don't get a lot of love as all the DRZ owners trade them for FCR's (which come on dirt based DRZ's anyway).

If the numbers I'm reading are correct, it could be perfect for the TTR - 325.

Seems quite a few XR400 owners have had great results using the DR650 CV carb which is the equivalent increase in cross sectional area for the XR400 as the DRZ - CV carb is to the TTR.

It seems CV carbs have the potential to work really well when sized like this. I reckon ill measure one up first to see if it'll fit, haven't got much to lose.

Who would have thought the mighty TTR project in this thread would ever hit Hollywood?

It's a hell of a machine, that's for sure: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NpsqlbTuqAc
