SSS forks into a Beta 2016 350RR

Why I guess is the first question? Why not I like twin chamber forks and the SSS's on my Yamaha are great. The Sachs on my Beta are pretty good but they are open chamber and I prefer the feel of the twin chamber forks. So this is the start of another adventure and tinker. Hope it helps someone with the zook forks as they will fail eventually.

The two biggest issues that I see are the fork lug offset and the upper clamping surface on the fork outers. The Beta forks have a 35mm offset most of the SSS forks have a 32MM offset. I don't want to mess with the geometry of my bike its one the plus points of the Beta so am going with SSS with a 35mm offset. These forks are only off the 06 and 07 YZ's and YZF's and the later model WR450F's with the EFI 5 valve engine. They do vary in length from bike to bike by a small amount, I don't see this as an issue just adjust the height to suit. There are other issues like brakes and spacers but I will get to that as needed.

Below is a picture of the older style 35mm off set SSS forks

The next picture is from the 2014 Yz250f these are the later 32mm lugs, from 2010 on from what I can see they are anodised this colour the 2008-9 bikes they are the same design but bare aluminium in colour. Its easy to spot the difference with a picture.

The next major issue is the 56mm upper fork land on the pre 2010 bikes, the Beta is 54mm.

I can also post up my valving and spring and preload specs if people are interested, mine are nothing special a simple traditional starting point slightly adapted from the valving I changed in my 2014 YZ250f (sons now).
