Radiator cap

Hi all,

In the market for a new radiator cap.
Did the usual search on fleabay and came across this a cap with a built in thermometer in it. Has any one else seen this or even purchased.

What are your thoughts on this, useful or gimmick?

As aside note a KTM radiator cap is in plain veiw as you sit on your bike

It is not a gimmick. I installed one on my Beta 300RR and find that it works very well plus it is reasonably easy to see.

Well I installed the new cap.
Went for a quick ride on a 38 deg day Bike sat on 65-70 degrees. Interesting to note that std thermostat opens at 70 deg. I have removed the thermostat.

Idling for a few minutes after stopping saw the temp get up to around 80.
I rigged up a sight tube and noticed it started to push coolant out at 95 deg. Took a while of idling and not moving to get there tho.
