HGigh Tree Mark.

Not often, but every once in a while some one gets a picture the high tree mark. My wife was at this race the previous year(THE 480) and a rider hit the same tree and the bike flew about 30 feet almost hitting her so she was taking pictures below the tree this time on Spectator Hill.
This hill climb can be challenging for some because it is steep and loose, but there is a spot there where when a big hidden rock gets uncovered by 100's of riders racing up the hill, it can catch your front tire and send you into this tree.
Well to her surprise I was the victim of the rock and she managed to get 5 pictures before it was all over. I did finish the race after I woke up under the tree, stood up and asked where my bike was, Some one had run the Berg back to the bottom of the hill for me. When I stood up someone was standing there handing my right shroud to me that I took off on the tree. If you will notice the shroud is between my legs and the tree when I hit it.
