Yep best wishes, I notice not much sympathy from not motorcycle people when I get hurt. Sorry if my previous comment sounded harsh. Sincere Best wishes even though I don't know you

Hmmmm, just had a fresh X-ray of my collarbone. It doesn't look pretty. Only question is, is the overlap significant enough to require surgery? It's feeling more stable, but still sore. Damnit, I wish I was still young and bounced rather than breaking!

On the 30 degree upward shot there is quite a large gap in the break (I think that's called displacement )

With the front-on shot you can see there's a fair bit of overlap with the 2 pieces of bone.

Yeh the overlap is normal, feels like ser living in the dark ages. My bump is the overlap about 4cm I can feel after where the bone has joined. I felt a bit neglected not being pinned up and there were lots of fragments.
Just keep getting second opinions Untill you feel comfortable. I can only say what happened to me not wanting it to be about me.. Hope your back to it soon

Also get another X-ray soon, you should see improvement as gravity does its job.

The Ortho told me to not operate - just leave it to heal itself. He reckons I'll get nearly the same range of motion once it has healed. I will have a lump there from the odd bone alignment, but as long as that doesn't interfere with my neck brace or anything that's not gonna be a problem.

The shoulder is already a lot more stable and hurts less after just a week and a half. It's the sitting at home not being able to do anything which I'm struggling the most with.
