Beta 300RR dead stator

So I've finally confirmed it, the supply coil on my 2016 Beta 300RR stator is stuffed. Got a peak voltage reading of only 3.4 volts and the resistance is only 4 ohms.
Bike is 6 weeks out of warranty so they won't cover it. Shits me a little paying near 12k for a bike and it breaks down at 7 months old. Luckily a new one isn't too expensive.

Goodwill seems very high in the Beta community, maybe a letter or phonecall to the importer if you havent already done so?

I've been talking to the dealer. He has been talking with Gary about the problem. They say they've never seen a stator problem on them and can't just send me a new one. My dealer is 3 hours drive away it's not worth me taking it there for them to look at.

Ring Gary direct, send photos of stator/test results multimeter, ask for cost price parts at a minimum. I'd reckon they'd be all about customer satisfaction if they want to continue to expand in Aus. Leave the customer shafting to the 'big' brands

Mate, you bought a cheap piece of Italian machinery. Get used to it. Electrics never were their strong suit.

"Beta" - it means prototype - you know that don't you? They'll make a real one eventually.

hehe...

What is a new one worth mate? I'd be surprised if they don't help you out they seem like they are really trying to help the brand. We have had a few Ktm's do stators ten minutes out of warranty and they have been told they are not covered, rewind aren't too expensive either. Unfortunately electrics don't get much warranty at all across the board. I've unwrapped brand new electronics that have no warranty on electricals plastered all over them.

I guess I could try talking to Gary direct. I have a few mates that are pretty keen on possibly getting a Beta. A couple of them were going to ride it the day it died! So with this happening and the fact I got to cough up myself they were a bit disappointed. But I said this can happen to any bike really. It's a Kokusan stator found in other brands.

A new one is only $206 and they are going to get it to me at the best price they can do. So it's bugger all really.

Lol Pete40, I've told guys at work about the bike that know stuff all about bikes in general, and they thought I had a prototype thing.

Kokusan eh? Must have found a box of the old ones out the back of the Kato factory when they used to get the engines from Austria.
