Head off to Two Stroke Performance and tell him its for the bush. FWW, V force reeds, a torque orientated pipe / muffler set up, jetting to suit and the most important thing will be suspension to suit you.
Im running 13/48 on my YZ with a wide ratio gear set. 1st is perfect but 49 on the rear would work on your standard KX.

Currently got 13:52. Too much?

Fww being ordered tomorrow.

Thinking 40:1 might suit bush riding more to seeing as it's not revved out as much as it usually would be on a motocross track

Well I geared mine up (48) to make it more "doughy" in the lower revs. testing 48 /49 back to back I was amazed at what 1 tooth extra on the rear would do to its power delivery in the tight stuff. Much easier to ride with lightly higher gearing (a 48 on the rear).
