It doesnt comp lock like it used to so they have changed something there as per that email you got. Also the starter clutch has been changed so I guess they thought it was worth a redesign.

It didn't feel drz heavy to me. I could still do a 180 mono turn with 1 foot on the ground. It just felt like most other 450's. But I didn't dead lift it. I dont dead lift any bike. Clutch, throttle and pivoting the bike at one end or the other has got me through all the extreme enduros I have done.

It isn't a 2 stroke nor a 250/350 and did not review it as one or try to judge it against them. I considered the other enduro 450's out there that I have ridden.

The date of review is last week as I wrote a rough one and put it in the mods section then.

Like the new WRF450 or not, I think It was a good effort on Yamaha's and Keg's part to put up a review. should be more of it from other bike companies.

I just weighed my own 08 wr450 and with rad guards, uhd tubes, all ADR gear removed, full tank it was 139kg. Although ive never weighed them, it's never felt that much different in weight to a ktm. Which makes me think, is the weight more of an issue on paper than in real life conditions?

Unfortunately whatever Keg writes would end being scrutinised one way or the other, that's just the way it goes.

Sounds like the ride was good, Coffs/Dorrigo area is a top spot. You mentioning the stability of the 450 through the trail brings a tear to my eye, I do really miss that about my 450 KTM. The extra mass and momentum are great there, and if you ride in predominantly rock conditions (Australia) I reckon it's a big help.

Also good to hear it has a good sidestand, I've taken (or broke) the ones of my Kato's because they are useless.

I do feel your comment regarding bending triple clamps is a bit unwarranted, I only one person has that has done that (it was a KTM 300) but it's hardly fair to suggest other manufacturers have softer triple clamps.

I still wish Yamaha would make a more YZ'y version of the bike, that it something I would be interested in buying.
