Looking at the website and parts breakdown it appears the Euro 4 models will come with 21mm Dellorto. 'Race' models will be 38mm good old proven reliable Keihin.

Hopefully this is like previous years where they come with pipes with cats, lean jetting, air intake restrictor plates, etc.. but also everything else you need to actually ride the bike the way it should be.

They'd be shooting themselves in the foot shipping to Australia with a heavily restricted bike and no alternative. I like the sound of the XC.

Well spotted Jake.

The Spanish site has no carburettor listed for the EC300 ... which is a bit deceptive?

Going by the website it looks like the Australian EC300 has Keihin

I think it is a bit suspect! It hasn't really been mentioned.. Just hidden away in the fine print.

This is stepping stone model though, with GG planning a new engine to follow shortly. Like I said, they've been shipping with pipes heavily restricted with cat convertors in them for some time. It's not well advertised either.. just a means of passing the regulations.

Raceway Motorcycles in Niddrie have the pair on the showroom floor but their moving on soon, so I'm going to try and call in for a look this week if it's not too late. As for the restrictions I'd say they will do as they did with the 17s and send them with both pipes and restrictors so they can say they are there in the box to get them into the country. As for the carb I can't see them sending 2 different carbs just to have one binned! Will see though if I get around to checking the 2 models out at Raceway.

I thought the 2018 had an all new engine. I've seen that pop up in a few places

I've seen some data where they've extracted some more power out of the engine, but externally she doesn't look all that different to a 17 engine.

At what point does something become all new?? vs just new?

If I have time later on I might compare some part numbers between the two and see where the new-ness has been introduced.
