Rk Tek head on 300 TPI

Kels was kind enough to send me a head modded to suit a TPI.

Plan to do a brief ride on it tomorrow but want to remove the rekluse before doing any real testing and form an opinion.

Currently have the 14.1 dome fitted

Is that a loose bolt near the kick starter (i.e. on the black bracket)?

Be interesting to see how it goes up some long steep hillclimbs with the stock mapping and whether it runs hot with a higher comp head.

Further work required, both comp ratio domes have run lean. The lower of the two has shown potential

What's the compression with each dome?

What was stock compression?

stock I got 125 PSI, using the lower comp dome I got 140 PSI with the same setup. I need to grab a new gauge and validate those numbers as they both seem low

Guage does seem to be reading a bit low.

Looks like you'll need to richen it up with a remap for the increase in comp. They must be on the limit now for leaness as they are delivered.
Was it detonating and banging heaverly or just a light ticking noise?

At least there are a few aftermarket choices becoming available for remapping.

Ha just been through that. New MP gauge arrived a few days ago, I measured 225psi yesterday with RK Tek head on my 2017 at 72 engine hours.

I wouldn't have expected the TPI engines to require a compression ratio much different to the carbed bikes, though lower comp might make the fueling a little easier to manage.
