What?

Whilst that is true Al, I always check with both ears...

50 years of surfing with a southerly in right ear?
30 years of a porting tool under right ear?
25 years of riding bikes with right-side pipes?
44 years of driving with the right window open?
45 years in the trade with air/electric tools in right hand?

Who'd have guessed? First thing I knew was when I was 35 and working on air at the ABC and the presenter after me was getting their right ear blown off using my can setting.

It sneaks up on you like an Alta.

What mods would be required to make the D-Max good in the desert eg Simpson Desert crossing and what would it cost (ball park)? Thanks in advance.

My mods generally end up at 7k , i call it the basics to be offroad capable. I'll end up with 15k on this one though .

2 years old to the day and the A/C has shit itself.

Split the evaporator on a hot day, dumped the gas into the cabin, etc.

There's a good car stuffed, the entire dash has to come out and they all rattle like a bastard after that job is done. I hate rattles!

I'll move it on, thinking of a C63 sedan next and an old Cruiser for trips.

First get a quote on a replacement side mirror

My Nissan STX-550 130,000km, only the EGR failed at 15K and it was replaced under warranty.

My mate tells me the C63 drinks fuel like a demon. Makes my Supercharged Rangy seem economical.

I just bought a dmax, one of the deciding resons why I went that way was the wrap you were giving it in this thread.

Ive got an old cruiser too and jeez it beats me up on a long trip, I never relized it though untill I got the comfort of the Dmax. But the torque of the cruiser is bloody good.

It's a great ute JH, but gee this has pissed me off. Now I've cooled down I'm thinking I'll fix it myself now, I can get an upgrade evaporator and do the whole job cheaper than swapping cars. If it's fixed under warrranty they'll be replacing the faulty part with the same part.

And how's this...tightarse Isuzu don't put dye in the initial gas-fill so if a seal pushes in hot weather and then reseats there's no way of finding the leak. You have to vac it out, load it with fresh gas + dye and then re test it.

I might vac it out and pressure test it with NOX and the sniffer. Any Auto/Fridgies have an opinion?

I'm definitely not buying one now

Just been working out bush for the last few weeks again. Mulga and gidgee country. Rough dirt roads. Spoke to a representative who had an MUX and he convinced me not to buy one to replace my cruiser. He reckons they are rough as guts and rattle badly on a dirt road. Said it felt like it would rattle the dash out. Myself cruiser with IFS is super comfortable on any road. Looks like I'm going to keep it going for a few more years.
