I can't help you at this piont but I'm about to embark on a similar mission & would be keen to also to hear what others have done.

I heve been through hardwiring the headlight on here before, so i have pic's handy

you just need a 3 legged jumper wire (a peice of wire like a Y )
disconnect the switchblock on the LHS at the plug, it is a 6 pin plug, the yellow wire is the power, i cant off the top of my head remember wich colour the others are, but if you stick one leg of the jumper in the yellow, you then just need to stick the other legs into the high or low beam, and the tail light. just test them all to find out wich pin is wich, on my 08 it was yellow in the top center, the other 2 were top left and bottom right.

the starter and kill are easy, first you need to buy new buttons, Ballards sell some nice switches, i recently fitted Yamaha start/stop to my CRF.
find where they plug into the harness, and cut the plug off and solder the plug into the new switches, cover with heatshrink and plug the new switches into the harness, then put them wherever you like
On the KTM I would keep the stock start/stop on the right hand side, and set up a switch for the dual curve ignition on the left.

Hi all,

I would like to hardwire my headlight on the 570. Unfortunately the photos for this thread have disappeared into cyberspace. Would anyone be able to throw a few pics up for the non electrically minded enthusiasts, aka electrical numpty, aka me?

Unit: arse about face mate, start on left, kill on right. Can't do a half-start with it the other way around.

Berger: if you want to bring it down the coast I'll wire all that set-up in for you. Freebie

All: simply take the stop-latch out of the OEM stop/start switch and use it on the LHS. Very tidy and durable.

Thatís a very kind offer Nutty. If it was just down the road Iíd be there in a heartbeat. Itís hard to get away at the moment with the young fella. In saying that, the wifeís family lives in Kiama so there is always a chance of a trip down the coast. Hopefully a tripís on the horizon somewhere.
