Gas Gas 2018 AOS 30hrs oil change

As per the manual, I dropped the oil from the forks this arvo @ 30hrs.

Minor gripe - why do people feel the need to crank the shit out of fork caps? Everything on super-tight

Inner chamber looked like it could go another 30hrs, outer chamber - not so much - see pic 3; outer chamber oil on the left. I did notice two rides ago that the fork action had become a tiny bit harsher - but still really nice. How do they do it?

The main differences I could spot compared to my old Yamaha-sourced SSS are the spring perch is a captured, plastic design & the free pistons are pre-drilled & have some funky porting shaped into them. See pics.

All 4 chambers were filled with approximately 250ml of oil from the factory & the clickers werenít set equally left to right - a couple of clicks here & there. I never checked as the ride was so bloody good.

Internals all look tickety-boo, so I followed the TBT Racing vid re refilling/bleeding the inner chamber & will top up the outer chamber tomorrow with 350ml fork oil (manual spec) & re-fit.

They really are a beautifully-engineered piece of kit & the best fork Iíve ridden (big broís Ohlins were great, too).

The KYBS I have on mine (off a 13 YZ250F from memory) have the same plastic spring perch. Good to see a pre drilled/moulded ICS piston..

The outer oil always ends up contaminated. Any rubbing of the spring leaves its deposits in the fluid, and anything that makes its way past the seal ends up in there as well.

One of the advantages of an air fork not always recognised. No spring rub.

I just took apart my AERs at 20hours (front new) and the oil inner and outer looked like new.

I have been riding in dry conditions not much mud.
