Nsw rego

Have rules tightened up? Used to be able to say that the bike only ever sees a trailer and is only ridden in the bush but now being asked to fit indicators etc.

I thought indicators were always a requirement.

Of course mine all happen to have broken off just before I get pulled over

Is this with your usual 'friendly' mechanic or a new one? I've never had a problem BUT I knew them and they new the bike never went near the road.
Maybe they've been burnt before ie passing something that then gets blatted around the street and pulled over.
Anyhoo, bit of a PITA.Time for some Clik n Rides!

Just thought common sense would prevail knowing they were coming off as soon as it got home.

So yeah, PITA.

I took a road bike in for rego late last year to my mechanic who I know really well. He went over the thing with a fine tooth comb and mentioned that the RTA inspectors had payed them a visit recently and all other motorcycle workshops in a recent crackdown on bike regos. He is also now asking for people to have their indicators etc on for inspections otherwise it will be a fail.
I think one of the main reasons is that the RTA are not seeing enough fails in the process.
On the road bike he had to fail it for a blown park light globe, replace the globe and then go back and pass it.
