Craigy, I just showed The Wife your post and she said "Good! Now I can stop thinking about whether I want to buy it myself!".

It was a toss up between the 200RR, 150TPI and the XT. Hopefully the XTs less frenetic power proves to be the correct choice.

No, I didn't get a ride. Jumped for the XT because it was a good price and I think it will suit my current situation. I'm still very keen on the 150 though. It may be my next bike if my health continues to improve.

What are you using for radiator protection? I don't usually bother but they are very exposed on the XT.

Force rad guards.
AXP bash plate with linkage guard and Polisport armidelo pipe guard. 36hrs in 12wks. I've removed the speedo cable and fitted an hr meter. The oem speedo/hr meter was not reading all the time cause the cable had been pulled out of the holder on the brake caliper.
I had the throttle cable pulled out of the throttle housing 1st ride by a stick. I have cable tied the throttle cable at the throttle housing. I've adjusted the float height and gone up 1 size on pilot and main. Used dielectric grease on all connections etc. Fitted FFRC shock and fork piston and valving kits. Removed the airbox cover and relocated the cdi to above the air filter, it gives a bit more room to get airfilter in and out.
