new barrel, why?? cause it has a couple of deep chips in the wall from when the top end let go. too deep to run the hone through and get them out, only potions are to bore out and drop in a liner and bore out to stock or 450cc kit. Just thought I may be able to obtain a hole top end as a package from a wrecker at a resonable price
Yamaha quoted $1600 for bare head, plus valves, plus springs, plus retainers, plus collets etc.etc.etc so you can see why I'd prefer to get this stuff secondhand
just thought it would be more cost effective to get the entire top end of a wrecked bike and though a new piston in and we're away

help me please, anyone????

Ringo-- I see that you nolonger have the SX, What's next???

**** man! I know how you feel about having to find a "second" hand barrel. I had powervalves fall into my old RMX250. $1400 for a new barrel.. no powervalves!

My next bike is an 02 TM300E
Its sitting in the showroom floor.
Just waiting for the last couple of hundred bones this friday then the thing is mine!

hey wildhorse, it may be worthwhile having a look over on thumpertalk.com - the exchange rate is pretty good atm and americans seem to sell stock stuff pretty cheaply.. best of luck with it.

Ringo: w00! sounds like a winner! I would looooooove a TM..

Metropolitan Motorcycle Wreckers were wrecking a 98 or 99 YZ400F in last month's Motorcycle Trader mag. They're in Silverwater down here in Sydney.
