Yes Keg that would be nice but DSE seem to not want to pass much info on even though they have promised to inform VTRN of all issues associated with trail bikes in Victoria. From what I can gather the tracks marked for closure at Enfield will most likely be closed because not enough people made submissions opposing the closures to make a difference. Unlike the Otways where a good number of riders and other bush users put pen to paper and have made a difference.

Any info you want pass on that you pick up on your travels you are welcome to pass on. VTRN can't spread the information if we don't get it!

Search the DSE Trailbike webpage or give Simon White from DSE a call 0439389447
I'm sure Simon will be happy to talk to you Keg. Cheers Dan

You're right Dan,

But why should we have to search to get info about what is important to us and what is happening with the funds our taxes generate to support our sport????

I'd rather have DSE contribute to the VTRN newsletter than have to spend money on leaving messages for their employees in the hope they get back to me in a reasonable time

Funny I thought the term public servant meant they were employed to..........

Sorry Dan,

You were right.........BUT................

Simon is on leave for six weeks so I guess not a lot will be happening and he won't be updating the website until after he gets back in mid October (just a recorded message)

Can you fill us in on what is happening in the southwest Dan?????

Nothing happening in SW Victoria!

No action on the management plan for the Cobobboonee National Park/ and 7 Forest Park areas. The office of Parks Victoria is closing in Portland. Well they are closing their public interface. Not that we will notice any change as they only do as Melbourne instructs even if it makes no sense at all.

Hi XRMAN

Things are pretty quiet here too.

The Paddy's Swamp trail bike unloading area seems to have been opened without the promised pomp and ceremony (most likely due to someone taking 6 weeks leave in addition to the previous extened leave last year. No wonder nothing gets done when short term projects end up being used to soak up DSE employee holiday entitlements).

Some of the proposed track closures in the Otways have been completed and some work has been done to repair neglected and eroded ones. Just a shame it has gone ahead without keeping rider groups involved. So much for fostering partnerships and developing ownership and stewardship of our future.

Oh well, that's what have come to expect

Still nothing

Hi Bruce,

So far not a word of how they intend to spend the $38 Mill promised by Minister Thwaites for the establishment of the Cobboboonee National Park. I am assuming that they didn't spend it all on the Otways NP extension.

I trust that they do not think we are stupid enough to take them at their word that recreational interests (other than Bush walking) will be considered.

It feels like the phoney war prior to the invasion of the Low Countries!
