Solar trickle/maintainer lithium battery

Hi crew

A mate has a Ducati which comes with a trickle charger/maintainer. He currently needs to park the bike near a 240v outlet at home and itís in the way.

Whatís a good setup for a solar trickle thing for LiOn so it can be out of his lounge room?

A Lithium battery doesn't need a trickle charger unless he doesn't start the bike every ~4 months or it has a parasitic drain.

Itís a Ducati Pana something or other. It comes with a battery maintainer so Iím guessing it has a parasitic load. It only gets ridden every month or two.

Extension lead?

Sparky to put an external power point?

Park it in the lounge room the night before a ride only?

Pull the battery out and trickle charge it only.

Pull the battery and don't bother to trickle charge if it's Lithium ion?

Assuming your using a Lithium capable charger to charge up this lithium battery, and nothing lesser like an AGM or lead acid style car charger. Remember the 2017 widespread exploding Lithium batteries on the Note7 phone that brought a large company like samsung to its knees ?
Never screw around with Lithium batteries !!!
I have a Lithium battery on my ktm450. There's been times it went flat, thus requiring overnight trickle charging using my trusty Oxford Lithium trickle charger which brings it back to life like a normal agm or car battery.

Most decent lifepo4 batteries can be charged by lead-acid style chargers which do not have a "desulphation" phase. This includes PWM & MPPT solar controllers and 2/3/4 stage chargers.

I think the term "trickle charger" is misused these days as that refers to a specific type of low-current/constant voltage type of chargers which have mostly been replaced with maintenance chargers.
