2020 Dakar in Saudi Arabia

Thought we had better have a thread to talk about Dakar this year being held in Saudi Arabia.

Obviously there'll be some big dunes. Some bad fesh-fesh too is my guess. Should be some rocks too.

Won't be any people spectating in the middle of nowhere like in South America.

There's a weird bike entered some of you might want to buy. "Bosuer" - it's french.

New road book rules that will be given out just before the start and that are already colour coded, so no need to stay up late marking the road book, but no early heads-up on the tricky bits either.

New marathon stage rules too. Less work time.

Toby will have some competition this year.

On past form I'd say Andrew Short is a big podium chance.

There's about 4 other Aussies in it too.

Rod Faggoter
Ben Young
Matthew Tidsall
Trevor Wilson

French for bling! ...that 450 sure is pretty.
How many spare bikes are they allowed to take for Dakar?

The MR300 must be their poverty model... it's got WP stickers on it's suspension

The pitbikes look familiar, must get flogged under many different names. I bet the the Chinga CRF450 will have Honda everything in Dakar, apart from the plastics.

I hope im wrong, but i think there will be hardly a soul out there watching this.

Its shame for the South Americans, it looked like they supported it a fair bit.

No doubt the Saudis have just chucked a crap load of money at the organizers.

I hope the organisers have got choppers overhead along that Coast run. Somalia is on the other side. In the south it won't take much for Yemeni desert rats to get over the border and try something. There's a whole lot of nothing out there.

I reckon Toby could probably outrun a bullet

Usually they don't care/worry about the "one foot in the grave" people[ bike, car racers]

Anyone seen the Supp Regs?

Do female riders run their Hijab over or under their helmet?

This team for the win...
