Minimum 6 weeks but I wouldn't jump on too early - go with what the Doctor reckons - all depends on the break and location and how well you heal up

Joel (my young bloke) is at 4 collarbone injuries so far. 3 breaks, and a dislocation. 2 were motorbikes, and 2 were pushbikes. He's worked on 12 weeks off each time, but since the last one he's not ridden much. Even knocked back a Fraser Island ride in May.

How old are you? How bad is the break? Have you had surgery to pin or plate it? All relevant info.

I'm 33, had a clean snap in the middle of the bone that is not badly disjointed, and did not have any surgery. I broke it on Easter saturday and only this weekend do I feel the break might be strong enough for me to ride gently again.

If you have surgery I believe recovery is quicker.

In my case it was 8 years, but thats a very long and boring story , so I will just say I hope yours heals much quicker than mine and you are back on the bike soon.

Be guided by your doctor. I broke a collar bone (no surgery) and had a recon on the other side after a total separation of the collar bone and was back riding in 10 weeks, and I'm an old bloke and not particularly fit.

Mrs wasn't going to believe me that the surgeon gave me the all clear to ride so I had him write me a note to give her.....very funny. Happy biker.gif

At 21 yrs old and a single break, you should be right 6-8 weeks but take advice.
