ec 300 radiators

Bike started sounding a bit ordinary, thought it was a pipe vibration. Im thinking now it may have been overheating detonation. Im thinking this issue it may have been going on a while but not have been as noticable because i generally only ride in cooler wet weather.
found coolant leaking from the left radiator, i removed the radiator thinking maybe there might be crash damage or the rad guards may have rubbed through. Nope no marks no damage core seems to have split or cracked. Just woundering if any one else has had this problem and has any one tried an aftermarket replacment?

Had it happen on both rads of wr300. Shitty alexon rads. No crash damage or guards rubbing through like yourself they just split a core. One on top & one on bottom from memory. Maybe got too hot & warped or maybe vibration-dunno. Either way was $50 fix at rad shop & came back looking like new(think they acid wash em). They just soldered up/blocked off the offending core. Been fine for past 200-250 hours & no difference to bike running temp.

I need a new one unless it can be fixed. About a thumb sized indentation in top of right side radiator.

Came here to check if the chinese ones are ok since the welds look crap. The oem ones aren't welded, but pressed on by the look of it.

Can get a pair of chinese for $100. Might see if it can be fixed cheaper first.

Out of curiosity how much can an oem be bought for?

Yep the chinese ones are fine. The delivery person was a dud
no real issues with mounting although the attention to detail was crap, the angle of the outlets weren't exact and I had to modify some molded heater hoses off a holden . The header tanks were larger and had to carfully put a dent in them so that the upper folk tube didnt hit them on full lock. But they been on now for about 1000km and no issues and havn't surcome to crash damage.
so in short I'm happy with them for the price payed

Slightly unrelated, but I bought a chinga for my berg when I holed it years back from eBay. Was from Winner racing. Had the same fitting dramas mentioned, but it's larger in capacity and the welds look ok. I think I've done about 4000+ k's on it and not a problem to mention.

I also bought a replacement set for a KTM prior to selling from Korio (eBay also). They were poorly made, quality was inferior compared to the Winner job.

I bought some ebay jobs for $110 delivered and they look pretty well made.

Somehow I don't think the one I'm replacing is salvageable

Should I fit the new pair? It shouldn't matter having one oem and one not right? The copies look slightly bigger but hard to say with the old one being squashed

How do you flush the old coolant etc out? Gonna do that then follow the steps in a recent radiator thread.
